Hidden Lake is a family oriented campground. Please become familiar with these rules. Read the rules to your children. It is the duty of every camper and visitor to obey the campground rules. Violations may result in the responsible parties’ expulsion from the campground.
Please do not let these rules confuse the intentions of management. These rules not only provide management with solutions to any potential problem, but also provide our campers the ability to enjoy camping to the fullest. The rules are designed to provide a safe, friendly, and beautiful place to camp for you, your family and friends.
Quiet time is 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and is strictly enforced.
DO NOT DIG AT YOUR CAMPSITE. ELECTRIC AND WATER LINES ARE BURIED UNDERGROUND. DIGGING COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEREROUS OR DEADLY!! CALL ‘OUPS’ AT 1-800-362-2764 AND ALLOW AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS FOR APPROVAL. Management must first approve any and all types of landscaping of sites.
SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK from 10:00 a.m. to dusk. ***NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY*** All children under the age of 18 must be under the direction of an adult at all times while swimming in the lake. Adults are to be in an area of no more than 50 feet radius of the beach area. You may not sit in your camper while watching the children swimming. Please do not bring any glass items to the lake or beach area. Remember that pets are not permitted near the lake area, near the beach area, or in buildings. Only approved tire inner tubes are allowed in the lake. Paddles or oars are permitted only with the approval of the management. NO ONE is allowed in the water past the second set of buoys – this is the fishing area. No one is allowed in or near the lake area after dark.
Management has the right to relet abandoned sites. Sites will be considered to be abandoned if the camping unit is removed longer than 14 days. (If you plan on being gone longer than 14 days, notify management prior to leaving.) There is no refund on abandoned sites.
Additional camping days, before or after the regular season, may be purchased for one-half the fee charged for daily transient camping.
Campers shall not advertise items for sale, or place any sign upon the trailer or campsite unless approved by management.
One auto is permitted to park at your site unless management agrees that your site can accommodate additional parking. Gate card deposits are required. Any damages to gate cards are the campers’ responsibility and will be replaced upon receipt of an additional gate card deposit.
Bicycles should not be ridden around the lake, in buildings, or after dark.
Campfires must be kept small and be attended. Please keep children from playing in campfires. Campfires must be out when retiring for the evening or leaving the campsite. All campers must provide their own firewood. From time-to-time firewood may be purchased from the management (when available). Theft of another campers’ firewood is strictly prohibited. Firewood or scrap lumber is not allowed on the site that is in excess of three (3) weekends of burning. Woodpiles must be kept in an approved rack off the ground, must be no higher than 36”, no longer than 60”, and no wider than 24”. Woodpiles must be kept neat.
Camping fees for seasonal use include two adults and their dependent children occupying one (1) unit per site.
Campground fees or required paperwork must be paid in full or completed within the time frame requested by management. If a second notice is required to be sent, an additional $25 administrative fee will be charged. If a third notice is necessary, you will be asked to leave the campground. The $25 administrative fee also applies for late payment of fees. If the entire campground fee is not paid as required, management may have the property occupying the campsite removed at the owners expense including towing and storage charges. The camping family will forfeit any fees previously paid. Management has the option to reallocate the site to another camping family. DEPOSIT FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Any camping family/individual who signs an application for any season, or pays a deposit for an upcoming season, shall be responsible to pay said fees for that season regardless if camper intends to occupy the site or not. If management should relet the site to another camper, credit may be applied, at management option. Management reserves the right to adjust fees on a case-by-case basis. DEPOSIT FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Campsites must be kept neat and orderly. Grass should be cut regularly. Management will charge for grass cutting and cleaning up campsite area. Flowers should be planted in pots or in a manner approved by management. Please respect others privacy by using roads and access walks instead of cutting through campsites. Keep volume down on radios and TV’s.
One camping unit will be permitted per site as directed by management to ensure proper spacing as required by County regulations.
Clotheslines are permitted for swimsuits and beach towels, but must be removed once swimsuits are dry.
A listing of the 10 most violated county regulations is available from the manager. Please be sure you comply with all federal, state, and county requirements.
Decks are permitted, but must be no longer than the camper by 8’ wide with sections no bigger than 4 x 8. Newly constructed decks must be made of treated wood. Fences and storage boxes are not allowed. If not renewing for the new year, decks must be removed before removing your camper from the campground.
DEPOSIT FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Electric cords to outlet box must be of proper size and in good condition. Locks are not permitted on the electric disconnect. Putting a lock on your electric disconnect is a safety violation. The electric disconnect feature will be used in the event of an emergency so power can be shut off to your unit. Turn off water and propane when you leave.
Emergency messageswill be delivered. All others may be picked up at the office.
Do not attempt to repair campground equipment. Advise the manager of any problems with equipment.
If any camper or guest of a camper should abuse, misuse or break any campground equipment in any way, including broken water lines, you will be charged for the repair.
Adults will be responsible for any damage their children or guests may do to the campground equipment or property, including the game room. All boys and girls, under the age of 18 yrs are walking around the campground after dark and unsupervised will be reported to parents. If repeated, the parents will be asked to leave the campground with no refunds. If any camper or guest of a camper should abuse, misuse any campground recreational equipmentin any way, the violator may be banned from using said equipment. (For example, hanging from the basketball hoops, volley ball nets, climbing basketball or baseball backstops, etc.)
One fire ring and one picnic table are furnished per site. Only authorized material may be placed upon the grounds at the campsite.
No fireworks, firearms, or explosive devices are permitted.
Fishing is allowed between dawn and dusk and only past second set of buoys toward the bridge. DO NO FISH IN THE SWIMMING AREA! Bass must be returned to the pond. No minnows for bait. DO NOT CATCH FROGS.
Garden hoseuse is prohibited. Washing of cars, campers or lawn watering is only allowed with permission of management. The use of a ‘Y’ connection is prohibited.
If interested in obtaining a lake front site, please mail a written note to Hidden Lake Campground, 6435 Fulton Lucas Rd., Swanton, OH 43558 stating that you are interested in a lake front site. The first priority for an available lake front site will be given to an individual who is placing a park model on the site. The second priority will be given to any year-round, full-time camper who signs an application for a one-year period. Third priority will be the individual with the most seniority.
Seasonal campers agree to carry their own liability insurance on their camping unit to protect against any theft, vandalism, or damage from fire, wind, water, hail or injury of any kind to persons or property, and it is mutually understood that the seasonal camper assumes full responsibility.
Seasonal sites will be allocated to manufactured camping units only, no converted units. Units must be in good condition. For new customers, units must be no older than 15 years unless management gives approval. Units must be in good working order and in good condition (no rust).
All motorized cycling in the campground is prohibited unless receiving prior authority from management.
At the end of the summer season, if you wish to move your trailer to another available site for the following summer season, we request that you move your trailer to the new site before leaving the campground for the winter.
Additional moving of any trailer, following the initial move on to any lot, will be charged $25 for said move. Authorized campground personnel must do the movement of any trailer within the campground property, unless otherwise approved by management.
Petsare welcomed if restricted to a leash at all times and accompanied by their owners. Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Pets are not permitted near the lake area or in buildings. Clean up after your pet.
ALL PLAYGROUND AND WATER ACTIVITIES INCLUDING SWIMMING HAVE NO MANAGER OR LIFE GUARD ON DUTY. Parents must supervise their children’s use of these named areas. Therefore, any campers’ children and your guests are your responsibility. You, your children, guests, heirs, executors, and administrators waive, release and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages which you, your children, or guests have or which may hereafter accrue to you, your children, or guests personally against Andrew & Sandra Driver, Hidden Lake Campground, or Hidden Lake Campground employees. You agree to accept total responsibility for your own actions, your children, or guests, and for any and all injuries that should occur from any and all activities at Hidden Lake Campground.
Pumping out of holding tanksis done during the week. Sign up and pay your fee at the store/office by Sunday. If you fail to timely sign up and need an emergency pump out, an additional $20 fee will be required in addition to the regular charge. Approved chemicals must be added to holding tanks on a regular basis as needed. Only septic system approved toilet paper may be used. Do NOT put anything other than body waste and approved toilet tissue in your holding tank. If any other item should clog up the pump out machine, a $75 fee will be charged.
Quiet timeis 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and is strictly enforced.
Refrigeratorsmust be kept inside campers.
It is the responsibility of all campers and their visitors to keep the restrooms clean. An adult must accompany children under the age of 7 in the restrooms. Dumping of wash, pot water, porta-pottiesor any type of refuse into the toilets is prohibited. All ‘liquid wastes’ defined as dish washing, cooking water, or any other type of disposable water must be dumped properly into the dump stations located within the park. Liquid waste of any kind is not to be stored at any time within the campsite. Holding tanks must be pumped out on a regular basis.
No one is allowed to tamper, alter or change any item on the security gate. Children are not allowed to play within 15 feet of the gate. No one is allowed inside the safety fencing that has been installed. Any violation of these items will result in automatic expulsion from the campground of the entire camping family. Management assumes no responsibility for injuries or damages.
Sheds are allowed with the consent of management – comments from neighbors will be taken into consideration.
Speed limit through the entire campground, and from the County road, is 5 mph.
Campsites are not allowed to be used as a permanent place of residence or allowed to be sublet to any one, at any time.
Any camper wishing to transfer their site to another camper must first obtain approval from management.
All trash must be placed in tied plastic bags and discarded in the dumpster. Dumpster lids should be closed after use. Only campsite refuse may be placed into the dumpster. If plastic bags with trash are kept outside of the camper, they must be placed into an approved garbage receptacle with lid. Aluminum cans should be separated from campground garbage and placed into marked cans along side of dumpster. No burning of leaves.
Cutting of any trees in or about the campground is strictly prohibited.
Trespassing on the smaller pond or the surrounding area is strictly prohibited. Do not cross fence lines or go beyond “keep out” signs. Stay within campground boundaries.
Hose connector vacuum breaker devices must be used when hoses are connected to campground faucets as designated by County Rules.
All visitors must register upon arrival and pay admittance fee. Visitors aged 60 years and older must register, but will not be charged the fee. Campers are responsible for the registration of their visitors, their conduct and their safety.
Visitorsmust park their vehicles in the designed parking lot. At no time will unauthorized vehicles be allowed in the campground without prior management approval. Visitors must leave the park by 11:00 p.m. or register and pay as an overnight guest. To help keep your seasonal rates down, you will be responsible to be sure all your guests have registered and paid the visitors fee. The first violation of this rule will result in an additional $50 fee. If a second violation occurs, the camper will be given a 48-hour notice to remove their camper from the campground without refund. This rule is strictly enforced!
Disturbing any wildlife, which may reside in the ponds or the grounds surrounding them is strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted for damages.
Management shall have the right to determine if an individual(s) of a camping family is causing a disturbanceat the campground. If management has concluded that an individual(s) at said camping unit is or has caused a disturbance, management reserves the right to ask the family or individual at the camping unit and all guests to leave the campground. Management may from time-to-time have local police officials assist management in removing any individuals and/or guests from the campground. Management and local police officials shall be held harmless from any sort of legal action that may be initiated from said removal of individuals.
It will be the opinion of management if people are in an intoxicated condition or using profanity. These people will be asked to leave the campground, under age drinking will not be tolerated
If management shall find it necessary to file legal action against any camping family/individual, said person(s) shall be responsible for any and all legal fees that management should encounter in enforcing these or any future rules.
Management reserves the right to add, delete, and interpret these rules. Any rule changes, amendments, or additions will be posted at the Rec Hall. Please check the board regularly for updates. Copies of the rules are available at the store/office. Please do not be offended if we remind you of these rules as they are here for all of us. Management shall have the option to have any camping unit removed at owners expense if the family/individual unit shall be asked to leave the campground for violating any campground rules as noted herein. All paid campground fees may be forfeited. Andrew & Sandra Driver, Hidden Lake Campground, or Hidden Lake Campground employees are not responsible for any loss or damage to any visitor or campers property, or for any loss or accident what so ever to any camper, family member, visitor, guest or other person. In the event any portion of these rules should be found to be unsupportable under Ohio Law, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and subject to enforcement in the courts without exception.
